Winners of the Youth Photography Contest 2018 will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, the Photographic Society of Oman (PSO) has stated. Works of the budding photographers will be exhibited at the PSO headquarters in Al Khoudh.
PSO will also honour 11 photographers who won at a contest organised by the International Federation for Photographic
Art (FIAP) last year and exhibit their operates.
The two exhibitions will be held beneath the patronage of Hamoud bin Ali al Easari, Assistant Secretary General in the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science.
Speaking to Muscat Daily,
an official at PSO stated, “The Youth Photography Contest 2018 contest saw 26 entries from 23 photographers in the beneath-20 category and 20 entries from 17 photographers in the beneath-15 category. We will honour operates of photographers in each the competitions.
“We organise lectures, workshops and forums aimed at spreading the culture of photography and developing the skills of amateur and professional photographers. The aim is to raise the standards of Omani photographers and ensure their participation in contests across the world.”
The two exhibitions are getting held from 8am to 8pm and will continue till April 25.
