Titled ‘Walking for Good Health’, Madayn held the walkathon at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM). Ahmed bin Ali al Hinai, director of Social Responsibility Department at Madayn, emphasised that the occasion aimed at strengthening the participation of the neighborhood and businesses in KOM and Rusayl Industrial Estate.
“Walking for Good Health event seeks to encourage these companies to contribute with financial donations to charitable organisations, disseminate awareness on the importance of team sports in changing lifestyle, and the significance of physical activities and walking especially for people with diabetes and heart disease,” Hinai mentioned.
The funds raised by the walkathon will be devoted to charitable organisations in the sultanate.
Another walkathon was organised by the Omani Nursing Association, in cooperation with Al Nahdha Hospital at Qurum Natural Park.
The occasion was held below the patronage of Hilal bin Hamad al Sarmi, member of the Shura Council from the wilayat of Seeb, in the presence of Abdullah bin Ahmed al Rubaie, chairman of the Omani Nursing Association, Dr Waheed bin Ali al Kharousi, chairman of Oman Cancer Association and officials in the Ministry of Health.
