Vaccinations mandatory for hajj pilgrims: MoH

The ministry has instructed that these vaccines must be taken not much less than ten days just before travelling as it is deemed a prerequisite by competent authorities in Saudi Arabia to enter and execute hajj.

The quadric-vaccination gives immunity against meningococcal meningitis for a period of 3 years seasonal influenza vaccine is provided annually and it gives seasonal immunity against seasonal influenza ailments.

As such, the ministry has cautioned that these citizens who have been immunised against meningococcal meningitis for a period of not a lot more than 3 years and these who have been vaccinated against seasonal influenza throughout Umrah in 2019 and have documentation want not be vaccinated once more.

The ministry stated that these vaccines are to be taken by these hajj pilgrims who have been accepted below the initial electronic sorting announced by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs (MARA). Citizens and residents can go to the nearest wellness institution in their governorate to take the vaccines.

Pilgrims are requested to adhere to the directions in order to avoid transmission of the ailments and safeguard public wellness.
