Hon Sheikh Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinai, vice chairman of the State Council, received the delegation of the Board of Directors of Occidental Petroleum Corporation headed by Eugene L Batchelder, chairman of the Board of Directors.
The meeting started with Hon Sheikh Hinai welcoming the delegation and providing a short overview of the council and its part in national action. He praised the company’s contribution to the Omani economy by means of its branch in the sultanate, referred to as, Oxy Oman.
Hon Sheikh Hinai stated that the vision of Oman 2040 foresees promising prospects to help the Omani economy, and has a lot of choices to create its sources and employ them in the greatest way to boost its prosperity, which includes the interest in sophisticated technologies and information economy. The Occidental Petroleum Corporation delegation praised the sultanate’s developments in all fields, noting that the business and by means of its specialisation in the exploration and production of oil and gas, operates by means of its branch in Oman to accomplish the operational objectives and offer jobs for the citizens.
The delegation viewed a documentary primarily based on the council, toured it premises to know its different facilities.
Hon Dr Saleh Salim Mohammed al Busaidi, Hon Dr Ishaq Ahmed Mohammed al Ruqaishi and Hon Dr Badria Ibrahim Khalfan al Shihi, members of the State Council also attended the meeting.
