Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), represented by the College of Engineering, has signed a cooperation programme with Nafath Renewable Energy for designing and manufacturing of solar and electrical automobile systems.
It was signed by Eng Abdullah al Saidi, CEO of Nafath Renewable Energy, and Prof Amer al Rawas, SQU’s deputy vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Services.
The programme is the outcome of cooperation efforts among Nafath Renewable Energy and SQU. This pact guarantees the implementation of the university’s program to hyperlink students, academic and technical employees with nearby industries to help diversification of the economy. It will assist in strengthening the capacities in the design and style and manufacturing of solar and electrical automobile systems via workshops as effectively as encouraging SQU students to create options and methods.
It contains the establishment of a cooperation program among the university and the organization to create electric cars in the sultanate. According to the pact, Nafath Renewable Energy will train a group of students and researchers from the College of Engineering in the methods of solar power systems.
The organization will implement a quantity of experimental projects in solar and electric automobiles at the university. In return, the academic employees and students at SQU will conduct researches in locations connected to solar systems and electric automobiles as effectively as programmes proposed by Nafath Renewable Energy.
