Sheikha Hind is the chairperson of the Omani French Friendship Association (OFA), a non-profit organisation founded by her. The organisation is focused on deepening trade, cultural and financial relations in between the sultanate and France.
On the occasion, H E Salins mentioned, “We are delighted to have Sheikha Hind’s support and personal commitment to OFA which is creating a valuable platform for French businesses to engage with the various ministries and form partnership with the Omani business community.” In addition to her capacity as chairperson of OFA, Sheikha Hind founded and is the chairperson of a worldwide tech venture – Bahwan CyberTek and dt360 – a three,000+ member institution with presence in the US, MEA, India and Far East. In 2017 and 2018, Stanford Management School documented case research on the evolution of Bahwan CyberTek and dt360.
“Given the historical ties between the two nations, it is a privilege for me along with the OFA board and with the support of the French Embassy in Muscat to be able to contribute to the relations between Oman and France. France has been a second home for me and for my family. So to receive this award is extremely special for me,” Sheikha Hind mentioned.
She is also involved in and has served on the boards of a assortment of public and private organisations. She is a member of the Middle Centre Advisory Board of the London School of Economics, a member of the Middle East Advisory Board of Coutts & Co, and a board member of the Family Business Network (FBN) for GCC.
She had previously served as a member on the Middle East Advisory Board of the Deutsche Bank and on the Board of Oman’s Public Authority for Social Insurance and chaired the Oman chapter of Young President’s Organization (YPO).
Sheikha Hind is a recipient of numerous honours such as Ernst & Young’s ‘Oman’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2000’, Arabian Business ‘e-Achiever of the Year’ award from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rasheed in 2001, ‘IT Women of the Year 2002’ award by UNDP, ‘Global Leaders for Tomorrow’ award by the World Economic Forum in 2003, ‘Global Young Leader’ by the World Economic Forum in 2007 and ‘Woman of Power Award’ by Asian Business Leadership Forum in 2011.
Sheikha Hind is a graduate in Computer Science, a Harvard Business School alumna and a Kellogg School of Management Executive Scholar in leadership and management. Most lately Sheikha Hind was recognised by Forbes as a single of the most potent females in the Arab planet.
