The venue for the prestigious occasion will be Royal Opera House Muscat, the organisers have stated.
The occasion will be organised beneath the aegis of Oman Airports with the assistance of other private sector agencies. The occasion will assist showcase the prospective of tourism in the sultanate to the top travel industries figureheads from across the globe attending the ceremony.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards rewards leaders in the tourism, airline, hotel and hospitality sectors about the planet, chosen via an on the internet poll involving customers from the common public and thousands of experts from the tourism and travel market worldwide. It covers 130 categories from transportation – air, cruise, vehicle and rail – to attractions, destinations, hotels and resorts, meetings and conventions, agencies and operators, and travel technologies providers.
Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed al Hosni, CEO of Oman Airports, at the time of Muscat International Airport winning the 2018 World Leading New Airport Award in Lisbon, Portugal in December had stated that the sultanate, represented by Oman Airports, will host the 2019 WTA.
He had stressed that hosting of the occasion will improve the sultanate’s position as an best location for hosting international events, which in turn will improve the diversification of national financial technique.
