Ready to kickstart Tour of Oman

The Organizing Committee of the Tour of Oman held a press conference on Thursday at Grand Hormuz Muscat. The committee officials stated that all preparations are total for the launch of the crucial sporting occasion. This year the race, like previous, will have six stages and will run till February 21. The second stage, covering 158km, will see cyclists commence the tour at Royal Cavalry Oman in Seeb and finish at Al Bustan in Muscat.

The third and longest stage of the tour (192km) will start in Shatti al Qurum and finish 5 hours later in Quriyat. The fourth stage of the tour will be held from Yiti (Al Sifah) to Oman Convention &amp Exhibition Centre. The 125km distance is anticipated to be covered in 3 and a half hours.

The penultimate and fifth stage will start in Samail and conclude in Jebel Akhdar, covering a distance of 152km. The final stage will start from Al Mouj Muscat and conclude at Muttrah Corniche. This stage will cover more than 135.5km.

Altogether 18 teams will take element in this year’s Tour of Oman.
