Rainfall, drop in temperature expected from Friday: PACA

On Wednesday, numerous components of Muscat saw scattered clouds providing respite from summer time temperature which had touched about 40°C in the final handful of days.

PACA’s National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre has forecast a trough of low stress affecting the sultanate from Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14.

It has mentioned that it will be partly cloudy to cloudy with possibilities of rain, thundershowers connected with fresh winds and hail more than Muscat, Musandam, Buraimi, Dhahirah, North and South Batinah, Dakhliyah, North and South Sharqiyah and will progressively extend to Al Wusta from Friday to Sunday.

An official from the Met workplace mentioned, “Some areas will witness moderate to heavy rainfall. There are possibilities of wadis overflowing. The sea state will be moderate to rough along the coast during this period.”

PACA has urged individuals to physical exercise caution in the course of inclement climate and verify the sea state just before sailing.
