Photo contest winners to be announced right now

The exhibition is element of the Best Image Muscat Festival Contest announced by the committee at the starting of the festival on January 10. The winners of the competitors will be announced on Wednesday throughout the exhibition at Amerat Park from 8pm.

An official from the organising committee mentioned, “We had announced the contest on our Muscat Festival Instagram web page inviting public to share with us their very best photograph of the festival. We got a lot of entries and tomorrow [Wednesday] we will reward the very best 3 entries at Amerat Park. We will show the 40 very best photos that have been submitted on our Instagram web page.”

The contest got hundreds of entries. “It was a 20-day affair. Every day three best entries were selected to enter the final round. Now the final round is over and we have selected the three best entries who will be rewarded by H E Dr Ahmed bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, at the Amerat Park,” the official mentioned.

The very best photos have been chosen by the Photography Society of Oman, mentioned the official. There was no particular criteria for the photos. “The pictures could be anything, faces, rides, food, animals, people or visitors. It was hard to zero in on any particular image as they were all very amazing,” he mentioned, adding, “We plan to make it bigger and better next year. So those who have missed out can follow us on our Instagram page next year.”
