Among the governorates, Muscat topped the list with 34 per cent SMEs registered in December 2018, followed by North Batinah at 17 per cent, Dakhliyah at ten per cent, North Sharqiyah at seven per cent and the rest of governorates at 32 per cent.
The Governorate of Al Wusta registered a decline of 55.six per cent to attain 51 SMEs from 115 in 2017, followed by the Governorate of South Batinah, which registered a fall of 47 per cent to 409 SMEs at the finish of December against 771 SMEs in 2017.
The Governorate of Dakhliyah registered a fall of 14 per cent to attain 505 from 587 SMEs, although Dhahirah saw a 45 per cent fall in the quantity of SMEs to 257 from 467 in 2017.
The quantity of SMEs registered in North and South Sharqiyah was 353 and 316, a decline of 36.9 per cent and 35.9 per cent, respectively. In the Governorate of Muscat, the total quantity of SMEs registered at the finish of December saw a 35.five per cent decline to two,015 against three,124 in the prior year.
The quantity of SMEs set up in Dhofar at the finish of December 2018 fell by 22 per cent to attain 376 from 482 as compared to the exact same period in 2017.
In Musandam governorate, there had been 25 SME units registered in the 12-month period of 2018, a fall of 10.7 per cent compared to 28 SMEs registered in 2017, whereas in Buraimi, the quantity was 191 at the finish of December compared to 213 the prior year, which is a drop of 10.three per cent.
