Omanisation rate set for power, water sectors

H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, issued Ministerial Decision No 450/2019 specifying the percentage of Omanisation.
The choice, which will be enforced in stages, stipulates 30 per cent to 100 per cent Omanisation for distinct professions. The choice is applicable to these businesses that have contracts with the public sector. In the electrical energy sector, the percentage of Omanisation in private sector enterprises for managerial positions will be 60 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 70 per cent in the second year, 80 per cent in the third year and 90 per cent in the fourth year.
The percentage of Omanisation in private sector enterprises amongst engineers and supervisors operating in the electrical energy sector will be 40 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 60 per cent in the second and third year and 70 per cent in the fourth year. The percentage of Omanisation in private sector enterprises amongst technicians (cable and energy line connectors) operating in the electrical energy sector will be 30 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 40 per cent in the second and 50 per cent in the third year.
For technicians, the percentage of Omanisation will be 40 per cent in the very first year, 70 per cent in the second year and 80 per cent in the third year. In the water sector, the percentage of Omanisation in private sector enterprises for managerial positions will be 30 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 60 per cent in the second year and 100 per cent from third year onwards.
For field team supervisors, the businesses will have to have an Omanisation rate of 30 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 50 per cent in the second year and 100 per cent by the third year. The percentage of Omanisation for method administrators and client solutions will be 100 per cent from the very first year of the contract.
For supervisors in the sector,  the rate to be followed each and every year of the contract is 60 per cent, 80 per cent and 100 per cent respectively. The percentage of Omanisation for engineers  in the technical team will be 50 per cent in the very first year of the contract and 75 per cent from the second year onwards.
The percentage of Omanisation will be 30 per cent for operational employees in the very first year, 50 per cent in the second year, 80 per cent in the third year, 90 per cent by the fourth year and 99 per cent by the fifth year of the contract. Omanisation rate for technicians will be 70 per cent in the very first year of the contract, 80 per cent in the second year and 90 per cent from third year
onwards.
For these in the handle panel – water technologies, the percentage of Omanisation will be 60 per cent in the very first year, 75 per cent in the second year, 85 per cent in the third year and 90 per cent from the fourth year onwards.
