Oman Airports CEO first Arab to become VP in Airports Council International

In its 59th annual meeting in Hong Kong, the World General Assembly of ACI elected Hosni for his contribution in enhancing the improvement of airports efficiency in Oman, at each administrative and operational levels.

The assignment also is as an acknowledgment for his successful contribution and participation as a board member of ACI Asia-Pacific for the previous two years.

ACI is a worldwide organisation that consists of 5 primary councils, and is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.

Hosni became a board member of the ACI Asia-Pacific in 2016 and was also chosen as a board member in ACI World in 2017. “This highlights effective presence of Oman in this industry as well as the keen interest and support that Oman devotes to develop the civil aviation sector,” according to a statement from Oman Airports.

Hosni stated, “I would like to express my sincere thanks to the ACI General Assembly and ACI board members for their trust. It is my pleasure to contribute to ACI by means of this function and carry out duly to meet the set objectives and targets.

“Oman Airports has confirmed its competency and excellence in several elements reflected with its wide participant in distinct committees of the 2019 ACI Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly Conference &amp Exhibition. This participation comes in league with the methods of Oman’s government that keenly supports and promotes the aviation field as a primary contributor of the national improvement plans, inspired by the perspicacity and insightful vision of our leader, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

“We work with our strategic partners to stand out as a key factor of growth and development at the regional and global levels, utilising the strategic significance of Oman’s geographical location.”

He added, “Oman Airports staff and myself are looking forward to contribute effectively to the growth and welfare of Oman in all the regional and international events as it deserves.”

The ACI World is regarded as the umbrella of all organisations in the civil aviation business.
