Mount Everest climber Nadhira receives rousing welcome

Muscat – 

Mount Everest climber Nadhira al Harthy received a hero’s welcome at the Muscat International Airport on Tuesday. H E Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, Ahmed al Musalmi, chief executive officer of Sohar International, airport officials and Nadhira’s family members members received her at the airport.

Nadhira became the very first Omani lady to scale the world’s highest mountain on May 23. Speaking to Muscat Daily
, Nadhira stated, “This is a matter of extreme pride for the people of Oman. There were many hurdles but I overcame them. The main challenge was at the base camp where everything that is associated at sea level like water, food and temperature differ. But, we must accept nature like the way it is.”

H E Sarmila stated, “A few years ago, Nadhira’s brother wrote a book on Nepal and that’s how we came to know about her. Nadhira’s success is a story of women empowerment not only in Oman but worldwide. She is a wonderful lady and Nepal was very happy to support her indomitable spirit.”

Muscat airport officials tweeted congratulating Nadhira. It study, “Muscat International Airport welcomes the adventurer Nadhira al Harthy as the first Omani woman to ever reach the top of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak at a height of 8,848m.”

Commenting on the bank’s assistance of Nadhira, Musalmi stated, “We are proud of Nadhira al Harthy’s outstanding feat that has really created her an unstoppable winner, becoming the very first Omani lady to summit Mt Everest. Nadhira’s win has gone a extended way in demonstrating that ladies can attain any objective that they are passionately determined to attain.
