A platform for migrant workers in Oman to showcase their talent, more than eight,000 participants from 74 camps have so far registered for it, organisers stated.
About the occasion, Ashwin Gedam, vice president of international advertising at Xpress Money, stated, “Blue-collar workers come to Oman with several hopes. They face several hardships and have to sacrifice their dreams. We attempt to give a platform to these lost dreams.
“We were overwhelmed with the response we received for Dil Ki Awaaz – Season 1. What was launched as an opportunity for migrant workers to showcase their musical talent has now become a life-transforming opportunity for many.”
Dil Ki Awaaz is an occasion targeted particularly at South Asian communities at labour camps in the sultanate.
Dil Ki Awaaz – Season two will culminate in a grand finale on March 22 at Qurm amphitheatre in the presence of Bollywood celebrities Bappi Lahiri and Shibani Kashyap who will judge the finals and pick the best 3 winners.
The winner of the very first prize will get RO1,000, whilst the second and third-placed winners will take house RO750 and RO500 respectively.
Besides the prize funds, the winner also gets a likelihood to release an album of his personal. After a rigorous audition procedure, the best 20 finalists will be chosen in the very first week of March. These finalists will be educated by a panel of judges to sing in the grand finale in the presence of a reside audience.
Plans for the occasion in the future consist of expanding it to have housemaids also participating in it, the organisers stated.
