The Ministry of Health in cooperation with a South Korean insurance coverage organization has performed a study on the project. The study was authorized by the Council of Ministers and assigned to a semi-governmental institution for implementation.
Also, the ministry has established the Investment and Finance Department to produce database of all plots and other assets belonging to it. MoH plans to use these assets for investment purposes in coordination with other government agencies.
In response to a query about the higher costs charged by private hospitals, H E Dr Sa’eedi stated, “Fees charged by private healthcare institutions in the sultanate are reasonable compared to many other countries. The government will not allow the fees charged by private health institutions to be very high.”
The ministry also supports the private wellness sector by permitting its physicians to perform there outdoors official operating hours. “Omani doctors have experience and skills because they have been trained in various medical institutions in North America, Europe, Australia and other countries,” H E Dr Sa’eedi stated.
