It’s a planet record: 530 in Oman do 108 sun-salutations

The record from Oman is of the highest ever quantity of participants taking element in a mass yoga programme outdoors India.

The mass yoga occasion took spot final year at the Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort and Spa’s Amphitheatre beneath the umbrella of Vyaniti Yoga Studio in association with Oman Cancer Association (OCA).

The aim of the occasion was to raise awareness on cancer prevention and highlight the function yoga plays in maintaining oneself match physically and emotionally.

Speaking about the occasion, Prema Nagesh, founder of the association, stated, “On verification after the conclusion of the event it was found that 485 participants had achieved their goal: fully completing 108 sets of the sun-salutation. This was a first-of-its-kind attempt in the Middle East. The participants were from a mixed age group with some as young as six years and some as old as 85 years.”

Prema also thanked the chief guest, H H Sayyid Marwan bin Turki bin Mahmoud al Said, and India’s oldest yoga teacher, 99 year old, Padma Shri Nanammal, Dr Wahid al Kharusi, president and chairperson, OCA, Yuthar al Rawahy, founder and honorary life president, OCA.
