Iranian President Dr Hassan Rouhani and H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs on Sunday discussed regional and international concerns, particularly the efforts becoming exerted to preserve safety and safety of international navigation in the Gulf region.
Earlier, the Iranian President received the Omani delegation at his presidential workplace in Tehran. During the meeting, H E Alawi conveyed the greetings and greatest wishes of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the Iranian President. On his turn, the Iranian President asked H E Alawi to convey his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan.
The Iranian President stressed the value of sustaining safety of international navigation in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz, pointing to the value of continuous meetings among officials in each the nations.
“The main responsibility to ensure security of the Hormuz Strait lies with Iran and Oman. The Islamic Republic of Iran always tries to make the Sea of Oman, the Gulf, and Strait of Hormuz a safe and reliable route for free international navigation,” mentioned Dr Rouhani on the official Twitter account of the Government of Iran.
During the meeting, they reviewed progress in numerous fields and implies to strengthen them to serve typical interests.
H E Alawi also met Ali Larijani, Iranian Parliament Speaker. They discussed existing international concerns, particularly the circumstance in the region.
