Addressing a press gathering final week, H E Munu Mahawar, Ambassador of India to Oman, stated, “The first programme will be Business-2-Business session on Health Care on September 23, followed by an Oman-India Art Exhibition from September 25-28, 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and United Nations International Day of Non-Violence on October 2 and ITEC Day on October 9.”
H E Mahawar stated that the ‘Business-2-Business session on Health Care’ will be held on September 23 throughout which an Indian delegation participating in Oman Health Exhibition & Conference will get an chance to interact with Ministry of Health officials and crucial members from Oman’s healthcare market. “The Indian delegation is being led by Dilip Harel Mitra Chenoy, secretary general, FICCI. India is participating as a ‘Partner Country in the 9th edition of Oman Health Exhibition & Conference 2019, being held from September 23-25 at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.”
The second occasion is ‘Oman-India Art Exhibition’ becoming organised by the Embassy of India in partnership with Omani Society for Fine Arts (OSFA). “The exhibition, at the OSFA premises, will end on September 28 and can be visited from 10am to 9pm,” he stated.
The third occasion will be the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and United Nations International Day of Non-Violence.
“The Embassy of India, Muscat has been organising a series of activities. The two year-extended celebrations began on October two, 2018, with a grand occasion that was organised by the Embassy in association with Raja Yoga Centre for Self Development at Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat.
The embassy has also launched a photography competitors on the themes of ‘Gandhi and Me’ and ‘Oman: Land of Peace’, which will be open till September 28. “We are also planning to organise a khadi exhibition, lecture on Mahatma Gandhi at a prominent Omani university and a Vegetarian Food Festival in continuation of Gandhi@150 celebrations, which will culminate on October 2, 2020,” H E Mahawar stated.
He added the final occasion is ITEC Day. “Under the ITEC programme, the Government of India has offered 125 slots to government officials and others from Oman, from April 2019-March 2020, to undertake short-duration training programmes in a number of fields in reputed Indian institutes,” H E Mahawar stated.
