The ROP and PACDA have urged folks to physical exercise caution and steer clear of venturing out into wadis in the course of the rains. Muscat and eight other governorates will witness rains accompanied by heavy winds till Monday morning, the Directorate General of Meteorology has mentioned.
An official from the Oman Met Office mentioned, “These rains are being caused due to low pressure prevalent in most part of the Gulf. Oman could experience heavy rains between 30mm and 75mm, which may lead to overflowing of wadis. Hailstorms are also likely in many parts of the country including Muscat, Musandam, North Batinah, South Batinah, Dakhliyah, North and South Sharqiyah, Dhahirah, and Buraimi. The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said, “Do not cross any wadis, avoid low-lying areas, and do not sail during thunderous rains.”
