He added that the sultanate is following a clear path that ‘neither harm anyone’ nor entail any danger, which is primarily based on the fundamentals of honesty and transparency involving not hidden agendas, and this path has gained international assistance more than the years.
He added that His Majesty the Sultan has foreseen the locations exactly where conflicts can happen.
Alawi stated that the concerns of the area concern all citizens, noting that the policy outlined by His Majesty the Sultan on dealing with them is primarily based on firm foundation and principles.
He stated that in the previous 5 decades, crises and disputes have led to wars in the Middle East among the Arab states, Israel and the West. “Nevertheless, the Arab world has sought peace, stability and development until the emergence of a new pattern of extremism and populism, which is now known as Da’esh that has been defeated militarily, but should be eliminated intellectually.”
Alawi stated that the sultanate is free of charge of these who adhere to the concept of Da’esh, saying, “The Sultanate of Oman does not have any Da’esh, and there are no people to say that there is one Daeshi in Oman.”
He added that the establishment of the Palestinian state is a strategic necessity for the whole area.
On the visits of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Israeli Prime Minister to the sultanate, he stated, “They requested the sultanate to facilitate a dialogue simply because they believed that the nation had no hidden agenda.
“We heard from both the parties on the possibility of agreeing on matters that were difficult in the past, including the issue of the occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli settlements and security issues.”
He additional stated that the US can not implement the ‘Deal of the Century’ unless there is an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty.
Alawi stated that a quantity of concerns in the area stay ‘unresolved’ and will take time for their resolution.
