His Majesty the Sultan problems 3 Royal Decrees

Royal Decree two/2019
 amends some provisions of the Prisons Law.

Article 1
 states that the amendments attached to this Decree shall be applied to the Prisons Law (promulgated beneath Royal Decree 48/98).

Article two
 cancels all that contradicts these amendments or contravenes with their provisions.

Article three
 says that this Decree shall be published in the official gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.

 

Royal Decree three/2019
 ratifies amendment to the ‘Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women’ and withdraws some of the sultanate’s reservations to the agreement.

Article 1
 ratifies amendment to Clause (1) of Article (20) of the above-pointed out convention in accordance with the version cited in the selection, attached to this Decree, of nations that are celebration to the above-pointed out international pact.

Article two
 withdraws the sultanate’s reservation to Clause (four) of Article (15) of the above-pointed out convention.

Article three
 instructs the departments concerned to take required measures to implement the provision of the two above-pointed out articles.

Article four
 says that this Decree shall be published in the official gazette and enforced on its date of concern.

 

Royal Decree four/2019
 declares as a public utility project ‘the completion project of the remaining section of Al Ja’iz Street (Al Nakheel Street) in the region of Ghail al Shubool in the wilayat of Sohar’.

Article 1
 declares as a public utility project the ‘project of completing the remaining part of Al Ja’iz Street track (Al Nakheel Street), beginning from the current section of the street till Ghail al Shubool roundabout in the wilayat of Sohar’, as specified in the memo and diagram attached to this Decree.

Article two
 stipulates that the departments concerned might expropriate, via direct implementation, the properties and lands required for the above-pointed out project, along with all the installations therein, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated beneath Royal Decree 64/78.

Article three
 says that this Decree shall be published in the official gazette and enforced on its date of concern.
