H E Shihi visits Sur protection dam office

H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed al Shihi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, visited the protection dam in Sur, North Sharqiyah on Wednesday. H E Shihi was provided a briefing on water level in the dam which had received massive inflow in the present spell of rain. 

Overflowing wadis had triggered water level to rise in dams across the sultanate. An estimated 23.4032mn m3 of water was collected in dams across Oman by Monday. Diam offers water in North, South Sharqiyah The Public Authority for Water (Diam), in cooperation with government agencies, is continuing its efforts to provide potable water in locations fed by the primary water provide pipeline.

The agencies have carried out repair function in two directions. In the initial path, function continues to repair damages in the impacted pipeline. In the second path, function is on to lay out a new water pipe. Diam stated its teams continue to offer water to citizens and residents in the wilayats and villages of North and South Sharqiyah. Diam also known as upon customers to rationalise water consumption and adhere to its reports on the repair function. Clean-up operations Meanwhile, municipal workers are clearing debris and slush washed onto roads by rain and wadi waters this week. Several teams from the the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources are conducting clean-up operations in the governorates of Dhahirah, Dakhliyah, North Batinah and South Sharqiyah.
