Safaa is a student at Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Sohar.
Safaa was honoured for coming very first in the Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity contest in the UAE.
Speaking to Muscat Daily
, Safaa stated, “I came first place in Media Cartoons drawing contest. I love drawing about nature, pottery and ornaments. Unfortunately, some people look at a disabled person as incapable. I wanted to prove them wrong.”
About her preparations for the competitors, she stated, “Trainer Mariam al Balushi at Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Sohar ready a coaching schedule for me. I practised for numerous months.
“I thank the trainer since she helped me a lot in winning awards in Gulf nations.
“I hope that all my colleagues participate in such competitions locally and abroad to realise their dreams. I wish I could have my profile gallery which displays all my work.”
