H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, upon his arrival in Muscat on Tuesday.
Qureshi is major a 12-member delegation of technical specialists representing sectors of bilateral cooperation falling beneath the purview of the Joint Commission whose seventh session will be co-chaired by the two foreign ministers on Thursday. This will be followed by a signing ceremony of accords.
During his 3-day go to, Qureshi will participate in a mega reception of the Pakistani neighborhood. The occasion will showcase colourful performances by a troupe and band of 50 youngsters from Pakistan School Muscat and Beacon House representing diverse cultural heritage and the national anthem.
A total of 750 guests have been invited to the occasion. More than 50 Pakistanis, Omanis and individuals of other nationalities will be presented ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ for their contributions to the Pakistan-Oman Friendship.
Speaking on the occasion, H E Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan, expressed excellent enthusiasm on behalf of all sections of the 272,000 Pakistani neighborhood saying, ‘every colour in our spectrum in Oman will be present during the community event’.
