H E Alawi meets Bulgarian, Irish, Algerian officials on the sidelines of UN General Assembly meeting

H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, met Ekaterina Zakharieva, Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, at the United Nations headquarters.

The two sides reviewed the scope of relations. In an interview to Oman Television right after the meeting, Ekaterina hailed the wisdom of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the good function played by the sultanate’s government as a political mediator to resolve international disputes. She also pointed out that in the meeting with H E Alawi concerns of typical concern and subjects connected to future visits in between the two nations have been discussed.

On the sidelines of the sultanate’s participation in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, H E Alawi also met Simon Coveney, Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Ireland. Bilateral relations in between the nations have been discussed with concentrate on the value of enhancing the financial and investment framework.

After the meeting, Coveney stated, “I came to listen to the Omani wisdom in dealing and mediating and in solving international conflicts. The European Union (EU) considers the sultanate’s peaceful policy in dealing with international disputes and issues as most appropriate and close to the EU.”

He pointed out that the meeting also touched on a number of typical concerns, primarily Yemen and Palestine.

H E Alawi also met Sabri Boukadoum, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Algeria. The meeting discussed the relations of the nations and regional concerns.
