The second edition of the Oman Workplace Safety & Loss Prevention Conference 2019 started beneath the patronage of H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Services.
Amr Abdullah Baabood, CEO of OITE Group mentioned that the occasion has received an overwhelming response. “The organising committee is pleased to see that workplace security and loss prevention has a basic spot in the all round policy and method of the Omani government, corporate and business.
“Arabian Research Bureau, a subsidiary of the OITE Group and a specialist in market research and intelligence has confirmed that safety practices started with the oil and gas industry and is now becoming an integral part of the HSE standards across all industries and sectors in Oman.”
Sadiq Ahmed Khan, COO, OITE Group mentioned that the occasion is the biggest gathering of workplace security and loss prevention specialists in Oman.
“It is overwhelming to see 45 ministries and entities along with 90 public and private sector organisations with over 270 safety and loss prevention professionals gathering in one place to exchange best practices. The conference is being held alongside an exhibition.” Eng Samara Salah, director of Training and Business Development of Samara Training Services and chairperson of the Conference Steering Committee mentioned the meet is focusing on Legal Framework and Policies of Risk Management and Optimisation of Human Resources in Managing Health & Safety right now.
“On day two, the sessions will concentrate on Business Continuity and Loss Prevention, Risk Management in Challenging Tasks and Sustainable Health & Safety.
Grace Braganza, project leader of the occasion mentioned that there is a great demand for such a meet and holds an essential spot on the improvement agenda of Oman. “We are elated to welcome all supporters, sponsors, speakers and delegates to the event. We are sure that the learnings will be well received and implemented at their workplace,” she mentioned.
The conference is becoming held beneath the auspices of the Ministry of Civil Service and seeing participation of 45 ministries and government bodies. It is becoming supported by the Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL), Institution of Occupational Safety & Health, Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), Oman Road Safety Association, Oman Health, Safety & Environment Professionals (HSE Group), Drops Oman Chapter, American Society for Safety Professionals, Oman Society of Engineers and International Powered Access Federation amongst other people. It is organised by the OITE Group and Samara Training Services who are members of OPAL.
