Organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and supported by Occidental of Oman, the year-extended exhibition will function various ancient manuscripts and documents. Yousef bin Ibrahim al Balushi, director basic of literature and arts, Ministry of Heritage and Culture, stated that the objective of the exhibition is to make folks conscious of how the former generations in Oman utilized to prepare manuscripts, documents and books on various subjects.
“The exhibition will feature manuscript dating back 531H, which is around 900 years ago,” he stated addressing the media on Sunday.
“The exhibition will first open at Sayyid Faisal Museum in Muscat on March 18 followed by events in Dhofar and then in Nizwa. The exhibition will finally return to Sayyid Faisal Museum in Muscat with the concluding ceremony on March 18, 2020.”
On the sidelines of the exhibition, there will be workshops and video presentations about manuscripts whilst engaging the young folks. The thought is to develop much more awareness about ancient manuscripts.
