Embassy programme highlights investment prospects in Nepal

The programme commenced with the national anthems of the Sultanate of Oman and Nepal and lighting the conventional oil lamp jointly by H E Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal and the Guest of Honour H E Eng Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry Hilal Marhoon al Mamari, head of West Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Yahya Abdulla al Fannah, head of Economy Sector, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdul Adhaim al Bahraini, CEO of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the programme, a video was played with highlights of the speeches of the distinguished speakers such as the Prime Minister of Nepal at Nepal Investment Summit, 2019 held on March 29 and 30 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Delivering her speech, H E Sarmila elucidated the significance of investment in Nepal to attain the national motto of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’.

H E Sarmila touched on different sectors such as agriculture, power, infrastructure, education, industrial infrastructure, urban infrastructure and transport infrastructure. Related videos have been also played in the course of the speech on each and every sector.

During the speech, she explained about different legal, institutional and policy reforms undertaken by the Government of Nepal to make an investment friendly atmosphere. H E Sarmila urged for the cooperation from all more than the globe for socio-financial prosperity and progress of Nepal.

Around 55 individuals attended the programme such as ambassadors of various nations and representatives from Ithraa and the State General Reserve Fund.
