British House of Lords delegation concludes its pay a visit to to sultanate

The pay a visit to, which came inside the framework of strengthening relations among the two nations and the improvement of cooperation among the two councils. The British delegation held meetings with the chairmen of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura, the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the chairman of the board of Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm and Ithraa.

The delegation also held discussions with members of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura on different elements of joint cooperation among the two chambers and their legislative and supervisory mechanisms.

On Wednesday, the delegation met with H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Planning, and the head of the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit.

The programme integrated visits to cultural and historical landmarks in the sultanate. The delegation led by Lord Geoffrey James Dear, deputy speaker of the House of Lords, integrated Baroness Frances Gertrude, Lord Igor Judge, Baroness Simone Jari Finn, Lord Navnit Dholakia and vice president of the British Omani Society Richard Muir.

The delegation was observed off by Hon Saleh al Zakwani, member of the State Council, and Amjad bin Yahya al Busaidi, director of Public Relations Department.
