The Arab Tourism Day marks the birth anniversary of renowned Arab traveller Ibn Batuta.

In a statement on this occasion, H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, stated, “The sultanate’s celebration of Arab Tourism Day is aimed at enhancement of the efforts to attain sustainable tourism improvement, encourage the movement of inter-Arab tourism, acquiring advantages from the organic and cultural elements and create them as effectively as preserve them making certain their sustainability.

“This year focus is also on the common human, cultural and civilisational values in Arab society, which are a major factor for increasing Arab tourism exchange.”

The sultanate is regarded as a single of the essential tourist destinations which attract Gulf and Arab vacationers all through the year.

The quantity of vacationers who came to the sultanate from the GCC nations in the year 2018 was 1,472,231, whilst the quantity of vacationers who came from other Arab nations was 182,377, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
