Salim al Balushi, a father to two kids, thinks the festival is his way of obtaining his kids closer to traditions. “I love the Muscat Festival because along with enjoying the games it is also a chance for me to take my children to the traditional village where they get to see the old way of life. I also make them taste authentic Omani food, especially the halwa.”

For homemaker Jasmine D’Souza the festival provides the ideal bowl of entertainment and culture. “I like to visit the traditional village, but my children get bored with such things and prefer the fun rides section. They want to spend time at the Bubble game area, so that I and my husband can enjoy the way we want.”
