The institute is accredited by the Ministry of Manpower as a Technical Training Institute. The graduation ceremony was held at Crowne Plaza Sohar and attended by the management teams of Sohar Aluminium, Moon Iron and Steel Company, members from the National Training Fund and officials from the Ministry of Manpower.
During the ceremony, Ahmed al Kharusi, common manager, human sources and corporate affairs, SA, mentioned, “Having gained certification from the Ministry of Manpower under the name of Sohar Industrial Training Institute, Sohar Aluminium is able to contribute to spreading the benefits of its facilities in the form of training services to neighbouring companies and support them in their Omanisation efforts.”
He wished the graduates achievement as they embark on their careers. The trainees had been presented with certificates issued by SITI.
The training was delivered following an agreement in between SITI and the National Training Fund (NTF). SITI educated 31 Omani diploma graduates in two distinct disciplines, electrical and mechanical, for a period of ten months.
The principal aim of the programme was to offer the essential understanding and expertise to the trainees to fill the gap in between their academic research and the industrial atmosphere. This will in turn improve their employability and improve Omanisation in distinct fields in the labour marketplace.
The course integrated English language, atmosphere, wellness and security and technical elements. With the completion of the training, the candidates have joined Moon Iron and Steel Company as technicians.
The training programme was the second productive collaboration in between SITI and NTF.
