International Islamic scholar Ismail Musa Menk from Zimbabwe, who is popularly identified as Mufti Menk, was the keynote speaker at ‘Taaruf’ (Towards Human Happiness) occasion. It was organised by the Department of Introduction to Islam and Cultural Exchange at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs (MARA).
The occasion, which took location final Friday at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), received an overwhelming response from all sections of the society. The session was a window to these who wanted to know a lot more about Islam. During the occasion, 28 folks embraced Islam.
“The event also included a dialogue with a group of newly converted Muslims, where they discussed the reason for embracing Islam and what difference occurred in their lives before and after it and what advice they would give to non-Muslims in order to guide them,” a MARA official stated. Mufti Menk, who gave speak on happiness of humanity stated that Islam propagates brotherhood and that religions are right here to boost human life.
“All laws and traditions of Islam are for the joy of humanity and they show that when man depends on Allah he will receive happiness. The key to happiness is to build a relationship with all creatures of God,” he stated.
The occasion also saw an exhibition on the Message of Islam which featured a quantity of paintings of Islam and some of the Omani landmarks that inform the history of mosques and the Islamic architecture of the nation.
The exhibition also incorporated a particular section on the status of females in Islam and their rights and duties.
