The construction of passenger terminal building at Duqm Airport is 96 per cent complete and will soon open to public.

Work on Duqm Airport passenger terminal 96% full: MoTC

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) on Sunday stated that, ‘only finishing works and operational tests are left’ on the creating.

H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, visited the website final week to assessment progress.

The minister was briefed on building progress as he paid a pay a visit to to the terminal, air cargo creating, air site visitors management complicated and manage tower. He also reviewed the readiness of the primary airport manage systems and the operation readiness.

“The total region of passenger terminal at the Duqm Airport is eight,660sq m with a capacity to manage up to 500,000 passengers annually.

“It contains two lifts which will cater to the needs of travellers from restaurants to the retail area. Duqm Airport is also equipped with two boarding bridges connected to five boarding halls, which are installed with e-gates for a smooth clearance and onward travel,” MoTC stated.

It added, “In the upcoming months we will be announcing the start of commercial operations of the terminal building.”
