The launch of the breast clinic and Think Pink Programme was organised at Abeer Hospital. Dr Taha Mohsin Juma al Lawati, senior consultant, surgical oncologist. head of scientific Committee Oman Medical Association, executive president, European Asian Society of Surgical Oncology, launched the breast clinic.
He stated, “Breast cancer remedy in current years has witnessed main improvement with minimum side effects. This clinic, entirely exclusive for ladies, by Abeer Hospital deserves particular mention.’’
Dr Wahid Ali Said al Kharusi, president and chairman of Oman Cancer Association, was the chief guest of the occasion. “Creating awareness on cancer should be given priority to reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment,” stated Dr Kharusi right after releasing the official brochure of breast clinic.
“Extending a helping hand to the less privileged in the society in preventing and curing cancer is the need of the hour,” stated Nadir Mohammed al Azri, CEO, Oman Cancer Association, right after unveiling the Think Pink Campaign by Abeer Hospital.
The breast clinic will be functioning below the supervision of a specialised female surgeon, Dr Amaravani Medithe (MMBS, MS, DALS, FMAS), specialist-General Laparoscopic Surgery at Abeer Hospital. “The exclusive breast clinic is a part of our specialised services and our aim is to serve the society in all possible ways,” stated Jamsheer Hamza, director of Abeer Hospital’s Oman Operations. Dr Sukumaran Vengayil, healthcare director and senior consultant – General and Laparoscopic Surgery at Abeer Hospital chaired the function.
