Talk focuses on private sector part in tackling power challenges

Muscat –

The Omani British Friendship Association (OBFA) organised a speak on the part of private sector and new company models in meeting power challenges at the Muscat University on Monday. The speak was delivered by Brian Davis, vice president, Integrated Energy Solutions in New Energies, Shell.

The occasion was attended by numerous professionals from the market as effectively as professors and students. Davis mentioned, “Our primary concern now about the planet is power and different strategies to use it effectively. One of them is to use hydrogen as transport fuel rather of electric automobile that utilizes battery.

“The battery is virtually a single and a half tonne. Hydrogen refuelling stations are simpler to preserve. Hydrogen can also be turned into electrical energy with out any emission and pollution.

“We, at the Shell, have been working for the last 15 years to build hydrogen station pumps. It is expensive but will not be in the near future. It is a great opportunity for a good value.”

He added that the organization is also into other alternatives like offshore solar projects and other utility power access.
