The Sri Lankan Community Social Club in Oman in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Muscat have been organising this occasion each year. Once once more, they have come forward to organise this festival on Friday at Muscat Club Ground in Wadi Kabir.
According to a press release, more than two,500 Sri Lankans from all more than Oman are anticipated to come and appreciate the day. The chief guest for the occasion will be H E M K Pathmanathan, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Oman.
The primary highlights of the festival are standard meals, dances, games and rituals of goodwill. The occasion will commence in the morning with the standard New Year proceedings and breakfast followed by the standard New Year games of Sri Lanka, open to all Sri Lankan youngsters and adults residing in Oman.
The evening will see a colourful and standard dance show and a beauty contest to select the New Year Queen (Avurudhu Kumari Pageant Show). There will also be a reside musical entertainment show at evening with the participation of well-known Sri Lankan artistes.
