United on stage as they are in life, Vadim Repin and Svetlana Zakharova combine the grace of ballet and the inspiration of the violin with supreme artistry in soul soaring performances.
His fingers and her toes develop an ethereal pas de deux to rival the mythical performances of Apollo and his muses.
Luminaries on the excellent stages of the planet these days, each Vadim and Svetlana had been kid prodigies who performed and won prestigious prizes from an early age.
Repin and Svetlana have selected a panorama of evocative music ranging from classic to modern, from Mozart to John Williams.
The programme contains further talents as two principal male dancers from the Bolshoi, Mikhail Lobukhin and Vyacheslav Lopatin, will dance with Svetlana and very first violinist, Anton Barakovsky will join Repin in a divertimento for two violins.
The music will be played by a extremely unique ensemble: Riccardo Muti’s excellent Chamber Orchestra ‘Luigi Cherubini’, which the legendary conductor introduced to ROHM in March 2015.
For this overall performance, it is the multi-talented Vadim Repin who will lead Muti’s orchestra, whilst playing a 1733 violin by Stradivarius. In each way, Pas de Deux for Toes and Fingers is a pure incarnation of excellence.
This magnificent pas de deux for violin and ballet will be held at ROHM on February 7 and eight at 7pm. As a unique occasion, on February six, Svetlana and Repin will participate in ROHM’s ‘Coffee and Dates’ series.
