Royal Cavalry wins Elite Cup

H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Braiki, Wali of Barka and Mohammed bin Issa al Fayrouz, president of the International Tent Pegging Federation also attended the occasion.

The two-day Elite Cup saw participation of 68 riders from different government cavalry units, who took component in 17 teams and competed in person and team rounds for the sword and lance.

The initial-day all round ranking was led by the Royal Cavalry team consisting of Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami, Khalfan bin Khamis al Rawahi, Omar bin Said al Hasani and Safwan bin Zaid al Ma’amari.

In the second spot had been the cavalry of Mudarraat Sultan of Oman (Armour’s Division), represented by Hilal bin Hassan al Balushi, Nasser bin Rashid al Siyabi, Hisham bin Ali al Bakri, Ali bin Khamis al Balushi.

Mudarraat Sultan of Oman represented by Khalid bin Amer al Habsi, Yasir bin Barot al Hasani, A’hid bin Khamis al Balushi and Zaid bin Hamoud al Saeedi came third.

On the second day the title was won by the Royal Cavalry, represented by Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami, Khalfan bin Khamis al Rawahi, Omar bin Said al Hasani and Safwan bin Zaid al Ma’amari.

Mudarraat Sultan of Oman team came second, represented by Hilal bin Hassan al Balushi, Nasser bin Rashid al Siyabi, Hisham bin Ali al Bakri and Ali bin Khamis al Balushi.
Royal Guard Cavalry completed third represented by riders Ayoub bin Khamis al Toubi, Saleh bin Ali al Hosni, Dhafer bin Rashid al Zaabi and Ali bin Hamoud al Ragaibi.

Nasser bin Rashid al Siyabi came initial and won the cup of the elite followed by Faisal bin Ali al Rashidi of the Royal Cavalry and Ayoub bin Khamis al Toubi of the Royal Guard of Oman.

Nasser bin Rashid al Siyabi also came initial at the side tentpegging competitors amongst 3 horse riders and managed to win the Elite Cup title for the second successive year.

Turkiyah bint Mahmoud al Balushiyah of the Mudarraat Sultan of Oman came initial and won the cup for the very best female horse rider at the elite cup competitors followed by Bashair bint Juma al Balushiyah of the Royal Cavalry and Amal bint Abdullah al Maskariyah from Mudarraat Sultan of Oman came third.

Hilali honoured the winners.
