ROP announces modify in validity period of getting into the sultanate on tourist visas

Brig Gen Ahmed bin Sultan al Nabhani, Director General of Passports and Residency stated, “There are three options for tourists to enter Oman within a validation period from the date of issuance of the visa.”

Brig Gen Nabhani stated that the tourist visa which is valid for ten days, the entry validation is for a period of 3 months and the exact same is applicable for the 1-month visa. “For the one-year tourist visa, the entry validation period is one month only from the date of issuance.”

Oman has reintroduced tourist visas valid for ten days at a nominal charge of RO5. Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsen al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs issued the choice (No 129/2018) on June 13, which came into impact from June 14.

The choice contains amending nine things as nicely as adding two new things of ‘entry visas’ in Article 29 of the executive regulations of the Foreigners’ Residency Law.

As for the residents of GCC nations in specific job categories, Brig Gen Nabhani stated that the new amendments have enabled them to enter Oman as vacationers with out a sponsor. “The visa is for a one-time entry and is valid for four weeks with the possible extension of one week. The entry validity period of this visa is one month from the date of issuance.” 

The new amendments have also produced it less difficult to apply for a student’s visa, owner’s visa, registration of ownership visa and an employment contract visa. In this category, the applicant need to enter Oman inside a period of 3 months from the date of issuance. He added that all kinds of visas are accessible electronically through the eVisa method as nicely as upon access to the ports of entry.
