This enchanting new production of Tchaikovsky’s fantastic The Sleeping Beauty attributes evocative sets and costumes by Anatoly Nezhny, with orchestration by PKF – Prague Philharmonia Orchestra beneath the baton of the brilliant young Russian star, Maestro Alevtina Ioffe.
With choreography by the fantastic 19th century ballet master, Marius Petipa, Tchaikovsky’s magical ballet, The Sleeping Beauty premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg in 1890. A century and a quarter later, The Sleeping Beauty, with a universal appeal that transcends cultural variations, remains 1 of the very best-loved ballets in the classical repertoire. The ballet enacts the legendary tale of a stunning princess who pricked a finger on her 16th birthday and slept beneath a spell for a 100 years till a prince awoke her with a kiss of accurate adore.
On Thursday and Friday the efficiency will be at 7pm and Saturday at 4pm. An informative Pre-Performance Talk will enrich the encounter of the ballet.
