In his address that went on for more than an hour, PM Modi mentioned, “Oman is home to Indians from many parts of the country. We are proud of the Omani government for giving us Indians the opportunity to serve both Oman and India. After this [address] I will meet His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and pray for his health on behalf of millions of Indians. We have a lot of schemes for Indians working abroad ensuring a better and safer life for them. It is with your contribution that we are making a new India. I am fortunate to know you all.”
Earlier, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers led the welcoming celebration for the guest and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival at the Royal Airport.
The guest was provided an official welcome ceremony. When the plane carrying the guest came to a halt in the location specified for it, Sayyid Fahd received and welcomed him, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a productive pay a visit to and a pleasant remain. Then, the guest introduced his accompanying senior officials to Sayyid Fahd.
After that, Sayyid Fahd accompanied the guest to the dais of honour exactly where the Protocols Guard of ROP performed the salute and the National Anthem of India and the Royal Anthem of Oman have been played.
Then, the Commandant of the Protocols Guard proceeded to the dais to acquire permission from the guest and Sayyid Fahd to inspect the front column of the Protocols Guard. After inspecting the Protocols Guard, the guest then shook hands with the welcoming celebration members comprising ministers, the Head and members of the Mission of Honour who will accompany him, Ambassador of the Moroccan Kingdom to Oman (Dean of the Diplomatic Corps), senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, ROP and members of the Indian Embassy.
The Indian Prime Minister is accompanied by an official delegation comprising National Security Advisor, Foreign Secretary, Secretary (ER), Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Accredited Ambassador of India to Oman, Joint Secretary to the PM, Joint Secretary (Gulf), Joint Secretary (External Publicity) Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs and a quantity of officials.
