PACDA evacuates more than 300 folks ROP deploys teams for distress calls

Of these, 205 folks have been evacuated by the civil defence team from Hasik in the wilayat of Sadah and 102 from Mirbat. The evacuees have been shifted to protected areas, PACDA tweeted.

In yet another tweet, PACDA stated that in cooperation with the Sadah Police Station, its team rescued the crew of a boat consisting of eight persons following it got stuck among rocks due to higher waves. PACDA has known as on folks to be cautious of overflowing wadis and rocks falling onto roads particularly following some sections have been blocked in the Hasik-Hadbeen-Sadah Road in Dhofar not too long ago. The Directorate General of Police Aviation has deployed search and rescue teams to attend to distress calls in the course of tropical storm Luban, ROP tweeted. It has also set up shelter properties for folks from low-lying locations.

The ROP also tweeted that it transported important supplies to different places in Dhofar. Meanwhile, the Royal Army of Oman, represented by the 11th Infantry Brigade in Dhofar, carried important supplies to warehouses in the wilayats of Rakhyut, Dalkout, Sadah and Shaleem in Dhofar for these who may well be impacted by the storm.

The Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar announced that all individuals in the Sultan Qaboos Hospital (SQH) have been shifted to the Sultan Qaboos Hospital Heart Centre and Armed Forces Hospital in Salalah final Thursday. It added that dialysis solutions continued to be delivered at the Dialysis Unit of SQH on Thursday and Friday. Afterwards, the dialysis circumstances would be received at the SQH Heart Centre.p[
