Over 7% drop in road accidents in August this year, says NCSI

The quantity of road accidents in Oman decreased by 7.three per cent in August 2018 compared to the identical month final year. The months of August and July registered 215 accidents, whilst June saw 222 accidents, according to the newest statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

In August, Muscat saw the maximum accidents at 26 per cent, followed by Dakhliyah (16.7 per cent), South Batinah (12.six per cent) and North Batinah (11.two per cent). The other governorates recorded 33.five per cent accidents. Statistics also indicate that the incidence of accidents at evening stood at 56 per cent. Road accidents resulted in 75 deaths, of which 30 had been Omanis.

The quantity of deaths from visitors accidents in August amongst expatriates stood at 45. As for visitors accident injuries, 174 had been Omanis, and 64 had been expatriates.
