The occasion was held beneath the patronage of H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism. Over 200 executives from private businesses in the tourism sector as effectively as higher-level ministry officials attended the occasion.
Hind Bahwan, chairperson of OFA, in a statement mentioned, “The tourism sector has shown exponential of growth in the past few years and we should keep up this momentum. Oman has become a popular destination given its scenic beauty and exotic locations, well preserved heritage and culture, and most importantly, hospitality. This event will bring together key people from the industry in an effort to further promote tourism.”
Hind added, “Prior to the event, four famous French bloggers had been invited to travel to Oman and make regular posts about the places they visited. Elisa and Maxime from Best Jobers are important bloggers/influencers with a reach of 38,000 on Facebook and 86,200 on Instagram. Maxime plays the photographer and Elisa is the writer. Ensuring that the bloggers come from different walks of life, Anne from Anne & Dubndidu, an athletic blogger with a reach of 114,500 on Instagram, was also invited along with passionate photographer Osmany Tavares who has 15,700 followers on Instagram. OFA is encouraging everyone to follow these enthusiastic bloggers.”
Two panel discussions at the occasion threw light on the current capabilities and future methods of Oman to leverage tourism as a important driver of financial development and social improvement.
