Some 13 Arab nations attended the occasion held beneath the patronage of Dr Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalil al Issa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq. The seminar was carried out in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, and the Iraqi National Commission for Education Culture and Science.
Oman was represented by Dr Fatima bint Saeed al Hajri, director of Alumni, and Al Nasser bin Nasser al Rokishi, assistant director of Equivalence and Recognition Department at the Ministry of Higher Education.
Oman participated in a paper presenting the encounter of the Ministry of Higher Education, in the project overall performance indicators for greater education institutions in the sultanate.
The seminar discussed the value of the existence of an Arab classification that requires into account the international indicators of classification in a way that crystallises the bases that Arab universities should adopt to boost their overall performance.
This will offer possibilities for competitors although enhancing the level of top quality assurance and accreditation and strengthening scientific ties amongst Arab universities.
