The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and ITB Berlin have announced that Oman will be the Official Partner Country of the world’s leading travel trade show in 2020. H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, said, “ITB Berlin is the leading platform for the global travel industry. With this partnership we will be able to draw major attention to our country as a travel destination. We are looking forward to presenting Oman as a destination to such a wide audience in 2020.”

Oman indicators agreement to be Official Partner Country of ITB Berlin 2020

H E Mehrzi and Dr Martin Buck, senior vice president Travel &amp Logistics, Messe Berlin, signed the pact at ITB Berlin earlier this month. “Oman is a travel destination with many facets and for several years has been an important exhibitor at ITB Berlin,” stated Buck. “With the sultanate we are delighted to have found such an attractive partner for the 2020 show.”

As the Official Partner Country of ITB Berlin 2020, Oman will, amongst a variety of other events, organise the opening ceremony on March three at the CityCube Berlin. From March four to eight, 2020 a colourful and wide-ranging programme and several events will make sure that guests get an chance to know much more about the sultanate.

Oman with its much more than five,000 years of history is regarded as an exclusive and sustainable travel location and has a excellent hospitality culture, stated ITB Berlin. “The country has a lot to offer: Diverse and attractive landscapes, pristine beaches, desert, majestic mountains as well as exclusive hotels. Activities, such as fishing, surfing, canoeing and diving round off the range of tourism attractions,” the statement added.

This year, a total of 10,000 businesses and organisations from 186 nations exhibited their items and solutions to about 170,000 guests, which includes 110,000 trade guests at ITB Berlin.
