With powerful help from the Oman Society of Petroleum Services (OPAL), and Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO), OGWA is regarded as as 1 of the crucial events in the area.
The 4-day conference started on Sunday whilst the 3-day exhibition began on Monday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by H E Mohammed al Zubair, Advisor to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for Economic Planning Affairs.
Speaking at the occasion, H E Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Undersecretary in MOG, mentioned that the exhibition aims to highlight the oil business and concentrate on enhanced production.
“This exhibition provides an opportunity for industry professionals to exchange ideas. It also gives smaller and medium companies a platform to showcase their services and technologies,” he mentioned.
He added, “Enhanced production in the sultanate is considered to be among the best in the world. It is also considered one of the best areas for the development of production techniques which could be exported. Several companies are already working on that.”
H E Eng Aufi also lauded the exhibition for offering specialised oil and gas business jobs to Omanis.
After the official opening, the dignitaries took a tour of the exhibition, which is becoming attended by much more than 400 exhibitors from 19 nations such as France, Egypt, Iran, Italy, China and South Korea.
The Chinese pavilion saw the biggest participation with more than 40 businesses convening to exchange enterprise possibilities in Oman. OGWA is an international biennial exhibition and conference that gathers nearby and international oil and gas businesses, technologies and service providers, gear suppliers and other businesses.
It aims to supply trade and enterprise possibilities amongst the nearby and international oil and gas businesses whilst encouraging foreign investment.
The SPE EOR conference was inaugurated on Sunday by H E Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas.
The conference, held alongside OGWA, has convened worldwide professionals in all types of EOR (enhanced oil recovery) methods to present, share and talk about their tips, initiatives and findings.
It will cover the newest advances in chemical EOR, thermal EOR, miscible gas injection EOR, low salinity water flooding, emerging and revolutionary techniques, monitoring and surveillance for EOR, EOR screening research, effectively design and style, drilling and completion challenges for EOR applications and a lot much more.
