The meeting was held in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed al Balushi, chairman of the Education Committee at OCCI, and Sulaiman al Harrasi, advisor to the Minister of Education for Studies and Research, and director of the Private Schools Classification Office.
The meeting aimed at discussing the project of classification of private schools.
The meeting affirmed that the classification will contribute to following up the high quality of education in private schools according to the greatest international practices, and accomplish good competitors in between these schools according to authorized national requirements.
Balushi mentioned, “The preparation of a strategy for the office of classification is important because it will help improve the education and link it to the strategies on the development of school performance and the strategy of the Quality Assurance Office.”
He added, “The classification should include several things such as school categories, geographical distribution, number of students and the financial capacity of these schools.”
